How to Start a Speech
Assumption Questions
Necessary vs. Sufficient
Necessary = without it, argument falls apart.
Sufficient = with it, argument holds up.
HOw to start a speech:
Good - 3 - A question
Better - 2 - A shocking factoid. (There are more people alive today than have ever died). [Every 2 minutes, the energy reaching the earth from the sun is equivalent to 1 year's usage of humanity.]
Best - 1 - Like telling a story to a child... "Once upon a time..." Tell a story. Tell them what quality of life means to you. Stories about people. Not the software, but the people who built the software, the people who use the software etc.
